ACCLIMATIZATION AND STORAGE AT THE JOB SITE

Your floor has had special drying treatment to meet an ideal moisture content of 8 to 10% of relative humidity (10 to 12% on delivery). That is why the floor boards must acclimate 5 days before installation, still in their packaging, at the job site so that the wood can adjust to room temperature. Note! This room must be dry and heated (18-20°) with a relative humidity between 45 and 60% as room factors affect the behaviour of your floor.

In principle, installing a parquet floor must always be the last stage in a project. Hence, please ensure that:

  • the subfloor is dry;
  • all plastering is dry;
  • all tiling has been finished for at least 3 weeks;
  • windows are installed;
  • there is no leakage in sanitary and heating elements.

CHECK LIST

Attached you will find a check list that must be completed before installing the floor (appendix 1). To meet the warranty terms and conditions, this list must be completed by the installer and returned to the company limited by shares Euro4 no later than 1 week after installation.

TIPS AND ADVICE

The general indoor temperature is important for your wooden floor. Room temperature: 18-20°C, humidity level: between 45 en 60%, whereby the limiting values must not be maintained for too long. In the winter months, the air in the area becomes very dry. In order to maintain a steady humidity level, humidifiers can be installed to the radiators. Larger rooms need electric humidifiers. In summer and autumn, when the humidity level is high, the room must be well ventilated. As is the case with all natural products, direct sunlight may cause colour changes. Excessive fluctuations in room temperature will cause the wood to cup, shrink or deform.

NOTE!

As your floor is a natural product, structure and colours in wood may vary. That is why we recommend mixing floor boards coming from different packages when installing the floor.
Check the floor also for moisture content, deviations in size and colour and damage. Non-conformity /deficiencies which are visible on delivery must be informed immediately before installing the floor boards.
Such complaints are not accepted after the floor boards have been installed.
